as above , just looking at sedge reports , the arse is falling out the lamb trade , can only go down from now on i would think , more coming on stream every week . and as these lambs would have been eating more expensive creep this year , not good margins

I would say this is an unusually kind spring which has seen lambs thrive and are coming to market quicker than they may have ever done. If they hit £2 a kg people will sit on them to get heavier weights, hoggets are drying up too . We pitched 80 less lambs than last year due to drought last year and i am sure this will be across the board. Looking at it glass half full and lambs are looking good and will not need so much creep from now on

Hoggs are a hell of a lot less money than this time last year that’s for sure £30 in some cases however if you factor in the death and extra feed last year maybe there’s not as much difference as first thought

That again was unusual as we had such a bad winter and the meat was not on the sheeps back so meat was short. I see the price this year as being about the norm going forward although there is now a rush with new seasons due to "the good weather"

Are the cull cows Angus aswell? If so pickstock give an extra 25p for them on the Angus scheme!
No cows aren't Angus they are quite well finished limos.

An idea what angus and clean cattle would be at pickstock this week?
No sorry. Agent did say that abp were ahead of everyone else this week though. He knows my cattle so don't really question him when he says send them there don't usually ask what other places are paying.
Heard today that beef is to drop next week
I was told that too :(
The cows were going to wait till next week but I'll have to find time to drop them off tomorrow now.
