StoreStore or fat lambs
StoreStore or fat lambs
Just had a text from Voyce Pullin saying finished lambs have gone dearer. True or not?
Grass is cheaper than cake! .Christ, look at all that grass, no wonder you breed big lambs
Where do you sell your lambs?these are the type of mule lambs we breed, plenty of bone and confirmation...averaged £96 for just under 700 lambs so fairly happy with that on the year.

Think Penrith where up, SQQ 179. But think this might reflect the standard of lamb in each mart. No idea what a show is like at Barney, but sounds like Penrith has a good show of quality lambs.Prime Lamb price looked particularly dire at Barnard Castle today SQQ £1.51
There’s likley not a lot of buyers at Barney so when the trades back there’s no safety netThink Penrith where up, SQQ 179. But think this might reflect the standard of lamb in each mart. No idea what a show is like at Barney, but sounds like Penrith has a good show of quality lambs.

Or how the scales work more likely, I stopped selling at one of our local marts when all the lambs suddenly weighed 3kg less than they should have. The one I do sell at play fair but have a poor sqq, take your pickThink Penrith where up, SQQ 179. But think this might reflect the standard of lamb in each mart. A lot of ewes are bought up in smaller marts and sold in the bigger ones. Make of it what you will but the same lads are doing it and have been for years. Some lambs are bought and sold that way tooOr how the scales work more likely, I stopped selling at one of our local marts when all the lambs suddenly weighed 3kg less than they should have. If they are selling in £ per kg then tell trading standards, if things are sold by weight then they have to be weighed correctly or I would think its fraudOr how the scales work more likely, I stopped selling at one of our local marts when all the lambs suddenly weighed 3kg less than they should have. Trading Standards don’t seem to care, all they do is check the scales weigh right, all the auction has do is work out the weight per lamb minus x and put that up on the board. The buyers will know, the sellers work it out but it makes a mockery of the SQQ quotedIf they are selling in £ per kg then tell trading standards, if things are sold by weight then they have to be weighed correctly or I would think its fraud
