What incentive is there for any of the processors to export British Beef?

Thanks to our legal obligation to provide cattle numbers, they know exactly what the supply is and it is in their interest to keep demand below that level. More than that just means more work and increased costs.
I wonder how many people would support nationalisation of meat processing in the UK.......

Got some hfd x dairy heifers, about 600kg. What are they likely to be worth dead at the moment and where. Tried some live and disappointed, averaged about £some dead last year of the same type and graded 0+3/4L.
About £900 to 950 named sires I sent 14 to dunbia off grass last week but half of them had gone to a 4H

I see the Irish farmers journal reporting today that Brazilian beef is now the same price as Irish beef for the first time, They are certainly taking advantage of the Chinese market. Was also talking to a a guy who feeds big numbers of store lambs and he thinks the outlook is good for sheep as New Zealand is sending very little this way as they are supplying China with increased tonnage.
Hopefully its all a positive for us.

Talking of KO% what would a Welsh black type kill out at? Have one that's thrown back that way and looks like a pure Welsh black despite being a mostly limo mother with some Welsh black a few generations back and angus father.
I had a pure beltie weigh 670kg at 30 months came back at 336kg dead weight R4L big belly on it too. I do think my scales are a bit generous though.

That's reassuring. He's been a real poor doer as he was a bottle calf and had a bad start but was 550kg about a month ago so I was hoping he would do 50% and get over the minimum weight. He's the last one I'll have for a while so don't want to keep him any longer. I don't see him getting any better either tbh been a long road to get him here.

Darlington was a decent trade yesterday. Last ever primestock Xmas show at the old mart.
I had 4 bulls in, I was happy with them.
My mate won the best homebred beast with his bullock. He's very happy about it, he has been saying that he always wanted to win that for the last 15 years. He's in that good of a mood I have persuaded him to go to the marts Xmas party tonight???
