They look a fair trade for sure.

Still cheap though before anyone starts saying people won’t buy lamb etc. Took my little one today to Disney shop for a frozen toy as we think we have mastered potty training and we bribed her with this offering. Two little doll things £30.00!! hook a duck if we had three kids it would have been a full lamb!! I hate thinking like this in ‘normal’ life but it creeps in!

I was sent a link by a female friend over the weekend about a thread on Mumsnet, poster on there moaning like hell that food was too expensive as she had just spent £40 on food shopping for her and her kid...

And yep she was even including NON food items like cosmetics and nappy's as food in that £40 total !!

You couldn't make this crap up!

A store is something that's not fat, whether it's a £100 lamb or £1200 bullock, it's still a store.

Can anyone tell me when they start checking teeth in markets?
?? Hexham Friday store sales the in-alley is full of dealer buyers. A good 1/3 of the entry there will be fit too kill and that's what happens too them. Argo & Atki won't let farmers buy anything that will hang straight up!

It's usually Easter when gobbing starts isn't it? I read the other day that one of the major processors has withdrawn their support for the June cut off though? Anyone else seen this?

Don’t think it will really matters whether they support it or not ,it will be the law and the market will sort them out. It is absolutely ridiculous that we still have these pointless restrictions for a disease which was never present. That’s scientists for you.

I had to have some of my sheep ( I think it was 100 ) tested for bse in sheep. I was fuming!
How can you test for something that does not exist in the first place?

It's how govt. agencies, vets, etc make their money. We had to test some semen export tups for Bovine TB.

When he came back to 'read' the test, I asked the vet what the incidence of BTB was in sheep. "Oh, they can't get it," was his reply. FFS :banghead:

Money for old rope

Not sure that's correct.

"Rare" it says.
Or is that a different strain? It's not clear.
It does mention compensation for compulsory slaughter of sheep which I didn't think was available. :scratchhead:

As far as exports go, it is the importing country that lay down the requirements albeit by agreement/negotiation with the exporting country and subject to international trading rules.

Yes, sheep can get 'bovine' TB but it is rare.

Hmmm, interesting. I was only going on what the export vet said.

When I got them in, ready for him to read, I had a crafty feel for any lumps. He was pretty sure I wouldn't find any. That's when I asked him the question.
