Depends who’s poker face is better on what it will settle at in a month.Ua, Stirling had 1000 hoggs, 170kg, so that's going to be the price, they had 6000 last week. 400 ewes, they were back alot aswell. Some 100+ but hard work selling

Are store lamb sales going ahead? If not that will dry the fat hoggets up a bit as store men will not be pushing lambs on feed so much. I would be buying and finishing some on pellets normally. Can they be bought private?Depends who’s poker face is better on what it will settle at in a month.
There plant in northern ireland cutting back production due to spacing issues for workersBit off topic but Bacon Factory at Malton (Karro foods) are looking for 300 more staff, so they must be shifting plenty.

Would these staff be able to get home? I thought we were on lockdown.Alot of Eastern Europeans slaughter staff are going back to be closer to family, may be one of the reasons? The demand for pork is bound to rise it's cheap lean meat.

Higher demand has been mentioned by some, but not sure on the Eastern European staff. Probably a bit of both.Alot left earlier this month, we were all expecting a lockdown in reality.
They’d of made more as stores
What I was saying yesterday, you can tell by milk and meat sections in shops being cleaned out everyday, demand is there.Spoke to my buyer (for fat cattle) this afternoon no problems with slaughtering & there's good demand other than high end stuff the problem is distribution, just struggling to get it on the shelf. Unfortunately expecting a drop next week but should then return to normal (ish).
Hoggs don’t look that bad .
