i bow to superior knowledge of guth , as he has previously said the FB report tends to up the mood with only the highs reported , its the general trend thats important

Well the store cattle/ stirk and calve trade today was a sellers market have no doubt about that!

@beefandsleep idea that store markets should be postponed next week is well and truly not a good idea after seeing todays trade!

Store cattle, about 600 penned sold to an electric trade for anything but overfat/ cattle fit to kill with these cattle as expected seeing a small drop of £20/30 head on the week but as for the grazing/ long term feeding cattle then just wow, trade for these cattle were as dear as last week and plenty of cattle £900/1000 head +.

All store cattle looked very well sold.

Stirks, a very small entry of only around 130 head penned sold to a fast demand for well bred/ farmed cattle and good suckler bred sorts would easily be £50 head up on the week but these grade of cattle were sadly few and far between, good strong native angus/ Hereford N/S steers dairy bred around the 6 month mark easily making £420/30 head and looking very well sold, no end of very poor cattle met little demand and thus will distort the average and not give a true reflection on trade for well farmed cattle.

Calves, didn't go in this ring as no orders for them but I was told it was a fast trade all things considered with plain native calves around the £30/50 mark and strong sorts with the same comments in the main £180/220 head, smart BBX bulls im told were around the £220 mark.

Great demand for all classes of stock so get them prmt tested and in the market(y)

told you i was only the warm up act lol ,
can quite see a good store trade , grass is starting to wake up , empty stores and warehouses in europe may need help filling in a few months , though bankruptcy could be a worry for exporters .
when whole europe is through the worse could be party / bbq time . and a boost for local seaside resorts .
