Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Would these be mostly heavies? Over 47kg.
These are very difficult to shift as the domestic and export market only wants 19 - 21 kg carcass weights as no catering outlets for the heavies.

I read that and groaned.
We had missed the big drop a couple of weeks ago and today’s weigh in was 47 - 52kg
They made £95 - £100.50 with the really heavies less money, but still OK for bought in hoggets reared only on grass.

Is it a bad idea to send calves to market over Easter weekend?

Id rather not be feeding them and I imagine that potential buyers might feel the same .
People might be glad of something to do in lockdown. Me and my Mrs were discussing buying a few calves last night now lambing is done to keep more occupied with new life coming in to forget everything else in the world at present!!
