I would of thought the 80% of furloughed wages and cash is already spoken for in finance. If interest rates rise I feel we are all in big trouble, i don't think they will but if they do:eek::eek:
I know this is off topic but a lot of these folk are significantly better off on 80% wages. No commuting costs or childcare to pay for plus pubs closed means they will actually be saving money.

Totally agree ...there's a lot of people with money sitting in the bank . They have been furloughed on 80% wages and a lot doing 'cash in hand ' work . This will start to drift back into the economy . Personally I think a VAT hike to 30% will be a way to get money back in . It won't hurt business as they can reclaim .
Anyway ..... 4 cull cows going to HFD this morning if the vet turns up in the next half hr to complete the pre-movement.
The trailer is backed up ready and paper work nearly ready all we need is the vet and a clear test !
Can't rule anything out, but i would have thought a 50% lift in VAT would be counter productive, pushing more money into the black economy and fuelling inflation.

Yes and also some are prepared to take on new work so having a second wage- good luck to them , money will be printed by Governments not only ours. There will be losers of course the pandemic will leave a personal mark in health and wealth. Keep safe
