I think the big boys are still struggling with throughput due to covid regs on their production lines. Therefore they are not pushing for numbers as they cant cope with them so needn’t push the price. but the smaller outfits who normally buy live are not held back as much hence want the numbersDemand for lambs is very high especially export spec.
£5.00 being offered for 19 to 22 kg.
This is unusually early for the export to begin and normally would be late June.
£4.65 would be well below liveweight price.
Yes had 43/44kg at £115.50 and 47kg £123.50 and two special 44kg £123.50 on thursday Darlington texel lambs out of Suffolk x ewesHad £106 for 40 kgs lambs last week at Kirkby Stephen last Tuesday so surely deadweight needs to be at least £5.20 to match.
