Do these slaughter houses put feed out for animals when they can’t be killed for a couple of days due too computer errors ect??? Seems wrong too me....

If I drop off a stirk on an evening, it will be penned with hay and water overnight - at my local abattoir anyway. I know that because I often walk them right into the indoor pens when I drop them.

Woodheads and Foyle both stand on. Big waiting lists to get cattle away.
Will prices hold ? Will numbers tighten again in few weeks with big kills?
Store sales will see less numbers now until the autumn and finishers have been struggling to fill up as it is. Recent consumer survey showed the majority wanted british . Virus outbreaks in slaughterhouses is the biggest threat to waiting lists imo but that will drive more sales away from supermarkets and towards local butchers and smaller slaughterhouses which is great news. Beef price will take some pulling back now, cats out the bag.

There was a lot of talk of long waiting lists a few weeks ago, one week it was : oh will be two/three weeks at least before we can take them... Cue 5 days later they were phoning up farmers daily including Sat and Sunday to try and find some cattle for the following week!

Fat cattle just aren't in any great numbers currently so I would take any talk of long waiting lists with a pinch of salt!

Sounds like they are worried about another fast hike for the deadweight price to me!
