I gave 700 for a texel the other day and was pleasantly surprised when I went too the office and they’d left me £20! He was a Scotsman so I was expecting 50p!!
Always nice when that happens, pays for breakfast or bit of diesel! Last year selling Stirks I had an old boy come to me and remind me I hadn’t given him any luck the year before!!! He couldn’t stand up straight but there was feck all wrong with his memory!! Lol

I bought a pen of mule ewe lambs in Longtown last year. Young lad came with the luck and there was £20 more than expected in his hand. I said it was very generous thank you, I hope they do as well as last years. He said the extra £20 is the luck on last years, I had loaded and gone before he had found me! Now that’s genuine of the lad.

I’ve never paid so much for feeding lambs up there and still nothing is forthcoming! 😂😂
Kind of related, it reminds me of a Scotland the What? sketch:

Bank Manager: 'So Mr McSporran, you've just had this £50,000 under the mattress for some time and you've decided to bring it in to the bank for safe keeping?'

Old Aberdeenshire farmer: 'Ach weel, The Mains is a kind of hard place, ye ken..'
