Saw the Dorset mules sold and they were fair sheep, nice stretch to them. Pity they were not scanned.

They made just over the £105 mark average I think.
I did wonder if the lack of scanning might not of helped. I guess the mules probably didn’t make as much as the Dorset’s? Unless they were younger.

I did not see them sold as had to nip across to cattle pens. But the ones I looked at had management tags in saying 2019 so prob sold OK

So, update.
Just inquired the price for next week for St Merryn, Bodmin.
From booking in the price has dropped 10p/kg.
@gone up the hill don't think much of your market insight!

Oh well.

10 pence a kilo is here nor there in the grand scheme of things when the base price was £3.70+ a kilo, a big drop is if it suddenly drops 10pk a week untill it is back to £3.20/3.30 a kilo like it was only a few months ago and hopefully it will level out around the £3.50 + base when all the price drops have filtered thru

Still makes you a bit sick. £35 on a fat bullock could be a large percentage of the profit. Or even worse add to the lose on it!

Yea i totally agree, but then on the other side of the coin the price went up 10ppk in one week recently!

Better if it goes up a few pence each week for a few weeks instead of large jumps like 10ppk as if it jumps slowly the more chance it will hold for longer.

Is it correct that lambs deadweight ex farm in France are now £7+ a kilo?? ( that is what a few people told me today )

Chuck a tup in with them you will sharp see if they are inlamb or not
I know what you mean. But bit late once they’ve jumped off your trailer into your field. I doubt there is any come back when they’ve been sold as running with. They’ve offered no guarantee have they. Not many would want May lambing ewes in our part of the world.

Would give you the option to rescan the ones that broke and cull if you wanted to
