Did you get to see any of the foxworthy estates in lamb ewes sell?
Saw the Dorset mules sold and they were fair sheep, nice stretch to them. Pity they were not scanned.
They made just over the £105 mark average I think.

I did wonder if the lack of scanning might not of helped. I guess the mules probably didn’t make as much as the Dorset’s? Unless they were younger.Saw the Dorset mules sold and they were fair sheep, nice stretch to them. Pity they were not scanned.

Reports posted. Good meated cows 150ppk , av 119 and lean natives at 90p. 800kg types £1100ishWhat weight would they be and price?? Fair cows or lean grazing types? Had a lot of cattle in yesterday I heard
Just seen the report online. Said topped £124 I think. Several sold in the £110+. Be gutted if they turn out not to be inlamb.I did not see them sold as had to nip across to cattle pens. But the ones I looked at had management tags in saying 2019 so prob sold OK
So, update.
Just inquired the price for next week for St Merryn, Bodmin.
From booking in the price has dropped 10p/kg.
@gone up the hill don't think much of your market insight!
Oh well.
Still makes you a bit sick. £35 on a fat bullock could be a large percentage of the profit. Or even worse add to the lose on it!10 pence a kilo is here nor there in the grand scheme of things when the base price was £3.70+ a kilo, a big drop is if it suddenly drops 10pk a week untill it is back to £3.20/3.30 a kilo like it was only a few months ago and hopefully it will level out around the £3.50 + base when all the price drops have filtered thru

Is it correct that lambs deadweight ex farm in France are now £7+ a kilo?? ( that is what a few people told me today )
Maybe they are not confident they are all in lamb.Don’t understand why anybody would sell inlamb ewes Unscanned it’s madness... they’re worth no more than cull money unscanned
Chuck a tup in with them you will sharp see if they are inlamb or notJust seen the report online. Said topped £124 I think. Several sold in the £110+. Be gutted if they turn out not to be inlamb.

I know what you mean. But bit late once they’ve jumped off your trailer into your field. I doubt there is any come back when they’ve been sold as running with. They’ve offered no guarantee have they. Not many would want May lambing ewes in our part of the world.Chuck a tup in with them you will sharp see if they are inlamb or not
Maybe they scanned them but didn’t like what they seenMaybe they are not confident they are all in lamb.
Assume nothing lolVendor was asked by auctioneer if rams were still active. Reply was no......whatever that’s worth??
Would give you the option to rescan the ones that broke and cull if you wanted toI know what you mean. But bit late once they’ve jumped off your trailer into your field. Makes me feel good about the ones I chucked a ram with that I had out of Longtown this autumn. Still no guarantee. I got to get the lambs out of them and sold first I guess!Would give you the option to rescan the ones that broke and cull if you wanted to
Could be just not arsed to do it. We see a lot sold inlamb scanned but no one knows what breed of tup they are inlamb to! Could be a herdwick x tup lamb! That would be my thoughts tbh... strange too sell ewes as in lamb but not scanned... even £1 a ewe scanning cost will add on £20-30 value
