Can only be described as crazy plenty over £115 a lot of hard bred lambs will drag the average back but it was one hell of a trade

I didn't stay to see them sold but our ewe lambs were probably averaging under 30 kg and were £90. Couples and in lamb ewes were ballistic. Pen of five full mouth suffolk cross ewes with seven lambs£265/ewe

Must be a massive market , they seem to have lots of couples in there thru the season from early on too.

Unbelievable how far people come to sell there. Sheep from oxford,Anglesey, pembrokeshire all driving past their local marts to go 100 miles to hereford. Before covid, Wednesday market was fat lambs,cull ewes, stores , couples, breeding ewes,rams calves, sometimes 13000 head! Stores and breeding stick Tuesday, fat and culls Wednesday now

HFD fb page reporting a slightly easier trade than last week , i suppose because of those hard bred things

I once heard someone say there was traffic jams in llandovery because of farmers travelling through heading to hereford! Welsh have always enjoyed coming to hereford either for the market or shopping, seems a tradition.
