They are already very dear. They might go through the roof by mid March!Where are cull ewes heading. Will they go very dear near Ramadan?

They will be buying them as we speak. Last year they dropped at the the projected spike as they had over supplied it and dealers had sheep on hand for it. I got clobbered that week everything dropped sold hoggs for very reduced rates
They reckon the ewes aren’t about down here in the mids, Ludlow very low numbers, Shrewsbury the same, Welshpool only had about 1600 on Monday I think, which is lower for them! Been hearing this the last few weeks about the ewes but mainly from an auctioneer so could be total bxllocksThey will be buying them as we speak. Doesn’t matter what it was. They bought ova many the job was overcookedWas that not Black Monday when the lockdown kicked in??
If not do not forget that the UK Gov made it illegal for households to mix at about 11 pm the night before one of main festivals was due to take place!

These festival spikes in trade aren’t there any more unless you sell directly to them. It’s not as prevalent the through the auction
These folks have their own land now and don’t buy at the last minute why would they
Yes the southern part of the country ran short of sheep late summer everyone headed north sooner so your theory is same as mineThey reckon the ewes aren’t about down here in the mids, Ludlow very low numbers, Shrewsbury the same, Welshpool only had about 1600 on Monday I think, which is lower for them! Aye this years a bit differentHoggs are not about and neither are cull ewes, spring lambs are coming out faster in the markets than normal but that is mostly because people on the early supermarket contract scheme job are selling liveweight instead as the supermarket contract price is much lower than liveweight prices!
Not much grass around Carlisle.Looking north from the M6 roundabout,it looked as if the sea had come in. The Eden over the top of the banks at Warwick Bridge. That’s never made any difference this time of year as long as I’ve been doing it. Grass fever even when there is none

Yep i totally agree,i have 100s less Hogs than last year and many are the same...look at Hereford last year always in excess of 2 k prime hogs last 3 weeks av is around 850...but it does make you think whos buying this lamb at this price...but long may it continueHoggs are not about and neither are cull ewes, spring lambs are coming out faster in the markets than normal but that is mostly because people on the early supermarket contract scheme job are selling liveweight instead as the supermarket contract price is much lower than liveweight prices!

Yes some have farms fair acerages too. What you are saying is right also dealers have sheep bought up for the job and they are ready to fit them up as neededThere’s atleast 2 too my knowledge holding farms near me and they always start filling up about now with cull ewes there will be over 1000 of them on 70 acres for the next month or 2 and then they’ll all vanish over night[emoji849]...
We aren’t saying that. What we are saying is it’s less about ‘the week’ now if you read it If you keep them back for ‘the week’ then you may not just miss the boat but miss the tide tooI would say there is still somewhat of a seasonal spike with culls. Certainly not a flat trade all year round.
Kiwi ?Speaking to a friend of mine who was at my local mart on monday said Kiwi x AA heifers calves at £2- £4 , wonder if they are worth the punt at that price even if you kept them as sucklers in the future ?
