Make tons of fodder, let the rest for sheep grazing at crazy money and perhaps restock on the cheap with average rearing calves which arent silly money.

How can you let it out for sheep grazing if you are already renting it in, in the first place? If you give land up where i live,you never get the chance to get it back. Average rearing calves through Carlisle are a mental trade,£300-£400 +.

In Norway they are all sheared in the slaughterhouse hung up on the line

Are you sure.... know of some boys that go across to shear lambs there and l always believed they were fully shorn before slaughter but I could be wrong .....definitely have been before

They do shear them in the lairage but also on the line, lass I know was doing it this winter

Fair point but i own my farm. Most hfr calves are in the £200's.

More likely the other way round.Hoggs ease back a bit after record highs,store cattle rising with Spring fever.

800 sounds very cheap to me, possibly a small reserve at that money

310kg hfrs and 295kg steers were £860 in hereford yesterday. You dont need reserves with the trade as it is

Bloke I rent sheds off sent some too Bakewell Monday.. proper plain cattle nothing at all special and did £995 average on them .. his reserve was £750 [emoji23]

You cant really make sweeping statements like that at the moment....live will be well ahead for the fancy shaped beltex types but a lot of the r and o grade hoggs are a good fiver ahead deadweight, strange times!
