Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Thats why they try to trick shoppers by putting foreign stuff inbetween uk produce on the same shelves rather than give it a seperate aisle. Supermarkets do not do anything they havent thought long and hard about, labelling mistake is a bulls##t excuse.
Yes and the complicated country of origin and produced in label’s all just putting folk off the track

can some of the scottish cattle finishers on here tell me what dw base price they were getting last week and also AA premium please?,my 10 bullocks (8 AA)that went dw last week were certainly much less than the weekly average quoted on QMS 🤷‍♂️
on a different note,i was asked this morning if i was interested in a large number of mostly bbx calves, still on milk just now,be weaned in may,i am still in shock but am sure he said between £400/£500😲,said i would take some if i was guaranteed £5kg dw when finished, didnt get an answer to that🙄

Too many angus cattle about and not enough orders for the "premium beef", jobs overdone . Calves are cheap if you can have them weaned in May at that money.

exactly and is also the reason farmers should
Not be getting involved with contracts with them it’s all for the super market they play long hard game , also the reason should not sell dead, farmer should not do anything a super market wants as if they want it it’s because it’s in their favour .
I liken it to McCain’s and potatoes, they cut everyone to the bone until there are only a few big players left.

Your giving them to much credit they know exactly what their up to

Do you really think so? They labelled the front as UK and the back as NZ and you think that’s deliberate? That’s as stupid as having the next year of monthly checks per-filled in the same pen when the RT inspector turns up. Sorry, but no - this reeks of an honest mistake.

it could well be but with all the bar codes and prices that need to be put on and the efficiency that their distribution centers need to have with amount of delivery’s and product lines they move around each night
Where the product has come from would be one of the easy bits especially with a flag on it😂😂😂

Had a handful finished last summer, from that age. Didn't look like much for a long time, but filled out surprisingly well into safe O+.

Some dairy BB follow the same path, for a lot more outlay.

thanks, if they get to 300kg dw they’ll probably leave more profit than the £280 lim calf

added to the fact everything is traceable through their supply chain even to who buys the product through things like clubcard etc , recent legislation regarding nuts and those that get anaphylactic issues , means "mistake" is no excuse regard labelling
