.

hope you have a good trade, let us know how you get on !!
Been shooting today, auctioneer rang with match report.
good overall, wasn’t expecting just under 1k a unit,
empty Gloucester cows with 250 to 350 kg calves, couple of AAX dairy
my throw outs (which is a fairly low standard) he said trade back a bit.
it tidied the farm up, less fert next year and the last of my horned cattle.
and had a good days shooting even if it was unseasonably hot.

How? Just How? 🤬 pass me the gun now I think. Save a lot of headache this next winter…
If it makes you feel better… I lost 2 ewes a month ago, assumed they’d been stolen tbh… they turned up yesterday while I was 2 hours away on the tractor in Stoke-on-Trent and it was 2hours into the ordeal that the police figured out who the sheep belonged too, they closed 2 different quarry’s down for safety reasons and closed a dual carriageway twice in the space of 4 hours because one of the quarry’s workers found these 2 sheep locked up in a cage they use for storing gas cyclinders in that the police had trapped them in and he thought best thing to do was let them out again because nobody was around and they went back too the dual carriageway 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I had a ewe and 2 lambs turn up the far side of another farm I rent a few months ago, well after shearing, went over to drop the ewe and her 2 lambs and discovered the ewe (by tag) was for another farm I rent 4 miles in the opposite direction and I had sheep almost the whole way yet this ewe and twin ewe lambs had managed to miss every group 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’d imagine you know where I closed down 🤦‍♂️ Ricketts and Hanson’s quarry’s on the A38 by the canwell estate 🤦‍♂️ Full police closure on the A38 while they tried too gather them up… copper wasn’t too impressed when I said why didn’t you just run them over 🤦‍♂️

I was flagged down last week in the lorry by a rural crime officer in my main wintering area. After last autumns fiasco with sheep on the A500 and me getting a little irate with the lack of police cooperation I was a bit dubious what she wanted. As it was she was all smiles, she had recognised me and the lorry. She pulled out an OS map of her patch and asked if it was ok too mark on where I have sheep in that area. Then if she has any issues she can ask me first. Gave me her number in case I have any problems. Explained locations, described my mark, breeds (if it’s a little horned sheep with a black face it’s 99.9% going too be mine) and she went off happy as Larry. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Nice too see a bit of forward thinking for a change!!!

I used to go near Wishaw (S - Coldfield) a lot but only went up the 38 to AIS for parts usually 🤣
