Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Not fake news at all. Wales are certainly considering the above ban on feeding raw milk to calves and if they do it would not surprise me if they do not follow suit this side of the bridge as well!

Thou i agree with you its complete BS and a complete nonsense!
So the Welsh suckler farmers will need to feed powder?

We are not aloud to feed antibiotic milk to calves due to resistance build up.

I've not heard this one, but the Welsh government are trying their best to scupper the job and proposing that the current 2 tests and your clear to move isn't good enough and will need a third test to be able to move.

Cant see how feeding calves powder instead of raw milk will prevent tb, as the cows still left would have passed the main test? It's not cow shite but it smells of something!

Looking at the reports 100 cattle is a big entry. Used too be a massive pig auction I believe. Before the processors got a strangle hold on the producers
That’s what happens when live markets are finished isn’t it when you rely on just dead isn’t it ask pig men ?! Oh most them packed it up! Family abbatoirs are good but big supermarket companies just screw most

Took 5 lambs too slaughter tonight, asked the butcher how much I should sell them for as Iv not done any this year and he said “no point doing it if your not charging people £10kg these days” 😳🤦‍♂️ I was thinking more like £7kg

I'm in Wales too, and not heard of it either. Maybe they are only informing farmers in Devon, not those it might effect?

Decent sized lambs £125.
Killing and cutting £45 to £50
Extra running about £25

20kg £10 per kg.
Simple really.

I charged £190/lamb last year for organic, vac packed etc, similar lambs made £85 in the autumn dw and £125 in March. I was going off DW price + kill/pack + bonus, Everyone seemed happy with it and that was last year!
