Bad enough with cattle but try selling oak the wrong week in Sedgemoor! £150 up or down per slab!
The question is, are the oak trees out there to supply this current demand?? I’ve heard everyone’s growing them an producing them slowly to meet the predicted trade bonanza that’s looming, but will it happen???Be an over supply next of timber next week price will crash
Our farm is covered in the barsteward things. Free too a good home but I take no responsibility for any radical council members coming for blood. Must be replaced by beech or sycamore. The question is, are the oak trees out there to supply this current demand?? Sell live to thrive. Stood up at least you won’t find all the nails and staples you forgot you’d knocked in them when the wire went slack, then weight loss while seasoning don’t get me started...So are these oak slabs best sold direct or in some kind of market?

Champion lamb carcass just made £3700 at the welsh winter fair and champion turkey last night made £660.
Fat bull trade in ludlow yesterday was flying , buyers seemed to want bulls over steers hfrs or cows.

The early bird !!!It sounds like @Hfd Cattle has some sort of Processor Contract, which is surely undermining the rest of us that have oak trees.
More meat for there money buying bulls especially if its butchers buying for xmas or the weather created a shortage up northThe early bird !!!
....I've answered every pm and given the contact details ..... am amazed at how many are interested !
.....just for the more sceptical ones ....we sent off 4 green slabs to Oxford and banked £2000 + vat ......all I had to do was load them .
Anyway to keep on thread ...... is there a particular reason that bulls are so much in demand ?
As @Werzle said earlier they seem to be wanted over steers / heifers .
Loose lips sink shipsThe early bird !!!
