Don’t they either full shear or shower all lambs before killing in NZ? This is why the shelf life is better than ours I was told.

The shelf life of NZ & Australian lamb is longer because they use machines to process the lamb. It is all done by hand in the UK which risks leaving a tiny bit of bacteria (transferred by glove) on the carcase - hence the shelf life is shorter. To compete with NZ & Australia, who are very export focussed, our processors will need to invest in more automated processing lines. Which wouldn't be a bad idea given the labour shortages the processing sector is facing.

Yes I often think it would end up bad if that happened. Pigs have been looked upon by banks as a preferably more viable option compared to cattle and sheep.
Pigs and poultry are surely more compatible with the factory farming system tho, and therefor more controllable, you just couldn’t farm sheep and cattle in the same fashion, fortunately. If you could we’d be long gone already.

Nope sober as a judge.. don’t really get what’s so shocking really, it’s a sellers market at the minute so why would I allow buyers too control what I do… if it was a buyers market then I might reconsider my attitude
If I went into a shop to buy a chicken sandwich and one was nice and clean and one was covered in chicken shite I know which one I would buy. If the only choice was one covered in shite I’d find a different shop. If I asked the shopkeeper chap if he had any sandwiches not covered in shite and he told me he doesn’t give a f**k about his buyers I wouldn’t go back to said shop. Have you ever bought a sandwich with clinkers?

You do realise my diet consists purely of monster energy drinks, galaxy ripples and kebabs don’t you 😅😂 I’m just fed up of the whole industry’s attitude in all dimensions… none of the supply company’s give a f**k about farmers and none of the buyers give a f**k about farmers were just like one big ball of idiots too be sh!t on by everyone around us….
