I associate digestate as a liquid…Is that not human crap as a solid?

The AD plant I supply with muck produces both. It goes through a slurry separator on exit, they spread the liquid on grassland and seedbeds pre drilling for spinach, and the solid which is just a compost goes on the potato land. All feedstock is crop/veg waste and fym. He says it’s all rocket fuel

Yes they shift that out of what was Kimberley Clarke but I thought they moved the sewage sludge too?

AD plants produce a liquid which when spread stains the ground black as soot and also a brown/black compost type material. I think theres an awful lot more liquid than compost though.

There’s some tipped on the 68 the fella that’s farming there is matey with one of his drivers who I know well too. Might have my wires crossed but I will find out. Was up at his place at Great Bavington years ago sure he was on with it then. Can you put in grass?

We looked at using it this year but a friend who uses a lot has lost some cows due to it so just bought some fert instead

Depends on the plant . Some plants produce a cake that spreads nicely

Booked our first total forage reared cattle in for end of June, had them walked by co-op feildsman, will be 21-23 months old, really pleased how well they have done, they have moved grassing paddock every 7 days & out wintered, with maize in feeders.

The jury is out here put digestate on grass last spring 8/10 weeks later round baled and wrapped cattle wernt as keen on it as off that that hadnt digestate
