Thats what i do for my local mart, just a few minutes away and saves trailing the box around for nowt. Pain in the arse if an hour away though.
Yes it's the bonus of not being far away . I will sometimes take home what I buy but it's not always easy to get on a loading ramp and I'm usually off somewhere else after !

Sounds like they got a lot of cows coming to Hfd besides next Tues sale .
I've got enough really but might just pop in to have a peep Tues .
Just been watching abit of llandoverys annual hfr and calf sale from last week. Hard work and some notable vendors taking some home unsold. Sucklers seem as wanted as monkey pox atm but wheres the inspec store cattle from if nobody breeds them

Heard Hereford was a little easier yesterday??
I thought the average feeding cows werent battled for as much, not sure they had dropped though but good cows still a very good trade. 450kg feeding bulls still flying, cull lim bull made just over 2k and a six year old breeder made 4k. 370kg ish things and below are easing but there seemed plenty battling for the £1400+ cattle.

But she loaded OK.

It may have just been the journey upset her a bit.

Can't be too bad. The worst ones I've had in the past would never have stayed in that pen!!

I don't keep anything I don't trust these days. But you can't trust anything completely.
When dad went into sucklers he bought his first cross bred cow out of market, stuck a bid in, she then proceeded to jump in the auctioneers rostrum twice so no other bugger bid. Chap hauling it home said he would have to pay damages but when she got it back did the haulage cheaper as box was still clean. Settled fine on the farm and was a bloody good cow, in one instance she dropped the next calf before the previous one has been weaned 🤦

Did you see my little lim cow go through ?

Lmbs n hoggs are needing to be nearer 150£, l see the post office are just going to raise price of stamps etc to cover cost, arable and dairy have gone up but as normal sheep will head downwards.
surely theres plenty profit in a lamb at £100? not so long ago they were £60, i dont get where the huge cost rise with sheep is? very low inputs required
