We will see… Iv no intention really of buying any lambs until October so plenty time to weigh the job up but personally I think it’s gonna be more mental than last year…

Different thing all together if it’s GOOD lambs at £75! They should be more if the trade holds at this or gets better. But not the ones you buy in August knowing full well it will be April before they come good.
I agree,there was plenty of lambs sold last year that left a decent margin,so folk are getting used to buying these lambs and turning profit.
It’s about time they got a kick in the bollôcks, it might slow’m up a bit

Hahaha, then the store producers will be all upset when the finishers pass the kicking downwards! There was plenty got wings clipped in February/March. And those selling heavyweights into April too. As said above, those who bought early and cashed on that hellish Christmas/January trade earned good coin! I looked back in the book this morning. My first big draw of polled lambs in January avg £3.03/kg 39.6kg. Didn’t see a trade like that again all season!It’s about time they got a kick in the bollôcks, it might slow’m up a bit

Some of the lambs I see come in… pen of 6 and I could comfortably carry all 6 in one go down too the docks… then they make £20 and you think wow…. Makes mine at £48-58 look cheap as hell!!!

Then there's the extra twist this year of increased fert and diesel prices for growing brassicas and the corn price for the shed men, I can see they'll be a tenner cheaper in the autumn
