There a guy near me sends his cattle down your neck of the woods to finish an in return keeps the other lads cows.im not sure how it works but been doing it for a few yearsHow do the yanks do it in them feed lots ? Do they buy stores or do they still belong the breeder ? And settle up at slaughter time or something ? What system do they have ?
The breeder sends them to a feed lot to finish where it’s cheaper but still owns the cattle pays the finisher to do it for themHows it work ?

Cattle in the south are dearer than up here and have been for some time. A guy I know who runs over 1000 has stopped his buyers and is buying them himself up hereBad to tell on the photos and I usually overvalue cattle down your way as they are a bit less. They are thick well fleshed sorts and good shape they will be right

Looking at the average price per kg of stores in Hereford etc where they are run over the scale they are far dearer than my local marts. Thirsk last week 12-15 month old suckler bred steers and heifers, 450kilo U-/+ could be bought £1000-1050 and without £20 haulage and buyers commission to add onThat’s not true my mate carts artic loads up day and night every week he’s no fool either

No it's always good to hear a differing opinion. I may well have got it totally wrong and they'll blow a fortune! Who knows!
