You've done very well I think, especially if they weren't the best of shearing. Got to get your head in the right place!None, 283 on my own is a hard day.
Good effortNone, 283 on my own is a hard day.
I haven’t got a trailer because we haven’t always got someone to push up. We clip in a pen I often think we would clip faster with a trailer. I have clipped on a trailer for a contractor to give him a hand and I liked it. I don’t clip many more than 200 now as a rule unless it’s to finish off a job if I’m catching my own. Often just do 150 then go and do something elseSome one pushing them up the race, just hard without a second shearing to keep me going.
Race trailers for shearers catching pen for farmers , ive seen farmers working harder than shearers poking big fat ewes up raceI haven’t got a trailer because we haven’t always got someone to push up. Iv got a race trailer and a pen, when I do my own I just use the pen so I can fill it every half and hour. With a race I can easy do 5 more and hour and it’s much easier on big ewes and tups as I’m not very big.I haven’t got a trailer because we haven’t always got someone to push up. We clip in the pen with the sheep it’s fastest for us but harder in some ways sheep don’t lay still as well with ewes and lambs running about but less distance to drag ewes to clipping board. Sometimes if I’m feeling fit and the sheep are good going I can catch them with one hand and leave the machine running in a pen of 15/20 that hasn’t happened this yearIv got a race trailer and a pen, when I do my own I just use the pen so I can fill it every half and hour. I do that with belly clipping in the winter, much faster to put 20 hoggs in a pen and let one go and gab the next as it runs past.We clip in the pen with the sheep it’s fastest for us but harder in some ways sheep don’t lay still as well with ewes and lambs running about but less distance to drag ewes to clipping board. You’ve done well to get as many done how sticky were they?
There’s a few lads locally who are contractors I bought a shearing day a few years ago at a charity night they came with their trailer but I suggested we put all four of us in a row in a pen they seemed pretty happy with it but had my lad catching I think he had the hardest day of anyone don’t know to this day how many we did because we didn’t complete.I do that with belly clipping in the winter, much faster to put 20 hoggs in a pen and let one go and gab the next as it runs past.
Tell me about it, I bought one and it's a cracker but getting it fat's another matter.its a grand shape but I have Just never liked those white blues. The buyers won’t touch them either

10 years ago everyone had white blues…now it’s about all black ones. You can’t sell white bulling heifers round here…in fact they are extinctalready sold one bull up around your neck of the woods and there maybe another arriving soon
dairy men love them as they give perfect marked calves I’m led to believe10 years ago everyone had white blues…now it’s about all black ones. You can’t sell white bulling heifers round here…in fact they are extinct
