Ewes could be down this week as bumper entries are everywhere to hit the festival trade. Next week be crap as fridges and bellies will be full. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if culls are back up £10/15 the week after that. Shearing lads here tomorrow, I’ve got red can ready and will draw out anything freeloading and cash this next month. Save my grass for weaning lambs onto, won’t be long now!!

Always seems easier to sell culls with the wool on .
Or perhaps it's just my culls. :ROFLMAO:

It’s getting a bit dry now, and I have to look at 1200 acres of this clover and vetch next to my sheep, some is even fenced but just has to be topped. 😭

Ab15 job.
Surely if drought is setting in and livestock is getting short of fodder these crops could be grazed as a one off. It’s welfare as well as an environmental benefit. In a world where we’re meant to be using less fuel it annoys me all these birdy plots that get flailed off. The powers that be wouldn’t know how to be green if they tried!

Went to Telford yesterday on a family day out. I did see what looked like 1000’s of cull ewes camped out on a farm, every breed represented some with wool and some not, I guess they will be going this week.
If you were heading north from Bridgnorth into Telford then it’s Alan Pickstock’s farm.
It’s either full to the brim, or empty.
He owns the abattoir in Ashby and also the one at Stourbridge (Ham lane)
