Shearing lads were saying yesterday. These store lamb sales get earlier every year. Those little lambs shouldn’t be getting weaned yet. They need this next month on their mothers to really get them going. Those bigger better sorts will take no harm. But the smaller ones, it’s too soon.
Those real young lambs will stand still at best, if not go backwards!! Still babies, they’ll melt like butter in the sun

How far North, Lambs get better the further up you come. 8Th and 15th August for best ewe lambs- Caithness Half bred and NCC. Think on line bidding available as well.

I don’t get above Dingwall. That’s an 8 hour drag. I haven’t priced haulage yet for this year. Could set the whole job off wrong yet. Don’t want any lambs before the end of August, need space to stack them up
