Listen to Grandad, he knows what he's talking aboutGrandad still prefers his coloured mules for looking smart. But I reckon a good bunch of clean Cheviot mules by proper traditional BFL tups take some beating for looking at.

Was down in mid Cheshire this morning, went past one big dairy farm I have in the winter, they got a bumper first cut but the farm is pretty much brown now!Well we're ready for it drying up a bit, it will let folk get on and get some crop gathered up, been a wet june, lets hope its going to take up, forecast is looking more promising!
Yes they should be but it’s the money that disappears in between which discounts themSurely far to early for stores lmbs, is skipton next week or the week after, surly if good fat are around 140, good stores should be at least 100.
.......I really wish I hadn't read that post !!!.....and there's all day to go yetI’ll come :-
I know a song that’ll get on your nerves, get on your nerves, get on your nerves,
I know a song that will get on your nerves a song that’ll get on your nerves.
Repeat !!
That’s true normal trends are out the windowWe are in strange times, how many years have fat gone up in the first week of July and poor hoggs worth more in may/June than good ones in march/April.
I think stores will a dear in a month (I hope anyway), big store men aren’t going to risk not hit a boom time, got to be in it to win it.That’s true normal trends are out the window
You can’t predict anything really
The festival may have helped who knows
I think it might depend how many come at once and how much money is about as time goes onI think stores will a dear in a month (I hope anyway), big store men aren’t going to risk not hit a boom time, got to be in it to win it.
Do the marts not put you up?You’re sleeping in the boot of the car. I’ve already got my usual B&B booked!
Friday will see only 1200 on the catalogueThese early store sale are normally just a sale of fat lambs. Theres good demand for lightweight lambs at the moment and thats what Hexhams first sale will be mainly made up of.
I sold some last week, late born out of hoggs by an unknown cross bred tup, all around the £100 mark, toothers made more than the others. Would have probably got £25 a head in the autumn so not a disasterThey were alright if you kept the ones that weren’t worth much to start with or bought with caution but still no records broken after all that
Sold some lately £120 ish for tail end sorts best trade of all season
But Grandad is just looking, the expert is the one having to make a livingListen to Grandad, he knows what he's talking about
Is the fat trade being driven on with the festival coming soon? The lamb trade could drop after that But what do I knowWe are in strange times, how many years have fat gone up in the first week of July and poor hoggs worth more in may/June than good ones in march/April.
Sometimes they will pay a flight too !Do the marts not put you up?
Pretty sure buyers of large numbers of cattle that come up from South get accommodation paid for at mart we sell stores through.
No need to worry about farm assurance
