Had a slightly mixed trade at Frome today,
23 month Angus x heifer sold well at 1170
10 month blue x steer sold well at 790
8 month blue x steer sold well for what it was at 655
9 month blue x heifer was hard to place at 540

overall trade was very good for lim and blue but there were some charly, sim and hford that were not quite so fast

this was for younger stores, we didn't stay to see the older ones sold
Just had a look and we topped the market :)

Scotbeef don't like to pay over the odds either for lamb, only quoting what I have been told by some lads that send lambs to them, have also been told that vivers scotlamb aren't the same company that they used to be either

I don't think they want lambs full stop at the moment. With the exchange rate where it is and still no demand for lambs....we need to look at other options I.e direct marketing, reducing numbers and generally being more savvy. I have 4horses (a pain in the arse) paying £40 per week per horse in a 5 acre field, and they nearly match 200 ewes for profitability. It's a joke

We need to forge our own markets to tighten Supply....extensive not intensive should be on most people's minds.

think i will stick to my sheep then,as the sight of a fat arse in jods first thing in the morning would be enough to put me off my bacon and eggs!
