I found that last year to, put a few out this morning on the shortest bunches of ewes, they ran at it but time will tell how much they eat, bales are 2-3 year old anyway so don’t mind using them up this time of year

Single Rouge x Cheviot mule lambs, all off hoggs. Weaned about 10 days ish now. Happy enough with them.

You should tup some of those. Make good ewes

Yea, rolled a bale out for the ewes in that field pictured, but they've hardly touched it.

As long as ewes have water there fine. Never know lambs on hoppers eat so much though and change in a week. Got 95 fit over 46kg, there where none last week and was very disappointed with the condition of them.

I’ve never tried them. I keep being told they make a decent lowland ewe. I’m open to offers for the best of them! Be less than straight Cheviot mules!
The pick would have to be worth £115-120 surely? Best 20 say.

What weight would they be?? They look nice making lambs

Best will be 35-38kg I’d have thought. Not weighed them as the trade isn’t very exciting and I’m lucky enough to have grass spare to put them on.

On trade I’ve seen £115-20 about right. Smart lambs

There you are folks. Best ewe lambs of these Rouge x Cheviot mules. All double jabbed with Bravoxin 10, wormed, multi vitamin (liquithrive lamb) and will be dipped shortly. £118 a piece. Sold lucky unless you’re someone who doesn’t believe in luck money…

They live on fresh air and what grows overnight as long as have water and teeth, luckily lambs on fresh north facing herbal ley that is still green, now just hope price holds

Main fuel line from Hull-Manchester runs under our farm. We were digging a drain a few years back and this offal looking fella appeared yelling and waving his arms that we were going to hit the pipeline. We were at one side of a 7 acre field and it was 2/3 way across it. He tried telling us we should ask permission before disturbing any soil near the pipeline. We told him to go forth and multiply, ignored him and carried on. But it makes you wonder how the hell they knew we were there? Unless we’d just dropped unlucky of one of the helicopter surveys?

Gas pipeline through us gets checked by helicopter everyday to make sure no one is digging near it !

As an aside, I was speaking to a well connected farmer last weekend.

He said beef processors only have 3 days worth of storage. So if we didn't supply for 3 days it would be seen on supermarket shelves.

I thought it was hung for 28 days but obviously not.
