Beef price is $h!te.

Best not to speak about it.

As an aside, I was speaking to a well connected farmer last weekend.

He said beef processors only have 3 days worth of storage. So if we didn't supply for 3 days it would be seen on supermarket shelves.

I thought it was hung for 28 days but obviously not.
Supermarket beef does well to be hung 10 days. Only butchers or specialty supermarket meat hang the proper times.

They wont have the chilling facility’s for that nor will
They want to pay for them ….. especially now . On another note regarding super markets i think them open chillers should banned , what a waste of energy/resources.

How long have we been saying that for though?

It seems fairly obvious now it isn't going to happen.

We all need to cut back numbers. But probably won't.

Instead of sending boat loads of Maize from the Ukraine we need a few loads of fertiliser.
I have a friend / relative who was at quite a few shows in Scotland recently on a stand and has been speaking to quite a lot of farmers and a lot of talk of suckler cows being sold. A lot of fed up farmers and how its not adding up financially he said.
