We're relying on him this time, hes a northerner, he has grass and deep down , although he doesnt care to admit it, he rather likes the mule!

No never needed FA, we send some hill tup lambs to them later on, try to take everything lwt but sometimes dead is better for unfashionable types

With the way things are with market prices being so eratic the 'fashionable types may be a better bet going dw at least you you know what your expecting rather than being done over with a flooded market day !

Would have thought grass fed lambs kill out about 46% this time of year so will need a big ish lamb to hit 22kg now.

I had 47 and 8s off grass killed 23s at dunbia today

Yeah , was a bit surprised, was only 3 or 4 out of a batch of 60 that were 23.
Most were 44s and 5s at 21.5 ish

Thought i best get some lambs in this field sharpish today . ..grass gets past its best when it gets up towards their knees!View attachment 1055531

Pleased to see someone has some grass, I would normally be coming north for ewe lambs, but may have to rethink this year. The dry ewes aren’t exactly up to their knees in it and the track to the water trough tells a story. Thankfully we are on mains !

Usually it's a safe bet with decent finished continental lambs at mart but you can't be do confident at min ....
