Talking to a friend on Sunday evening. His son is doing his fruit at the moment. Sponges and jabbed 250 ewes for early lambers. 7 have taken at first service. The others aren’t even cycling. 😳 safe to say he’s not a happy bunny
The vet said everything was cycling how they should be but he genuinely didn’t know how the heat would affect conception rates ..expensive learning experience if it has affected them…

That’s what used to happen to me
I was going to say to @Nithsdale Farmer yesterday I’m not sure who got the biggest shock the lass looking at what state the house was in of me looking at the state of what I had picked up
Was trying to sneak out the house in the morning was always worst bit! 🤦‍♂️

Mind 1 had a full length mirror in her bedroom and I smashed it, trying to find the door in the dark.

Thank goodness no camera phones back then.

2 pints of fat frog an that used to set me up for the night.
Back in the day when you could get pished for £20
Is that the same as what they call either frog snot or frog squash depending on the pub round here? Bottle each of blue wkd, reef and was it smirnoff ice I think? All mixed between 2 or 3 pint glasses depending how many in the round. Some stuff that was.
Black and blue as well. blue wkd and Guinness if you poured it right they wouldn't mix and one would sit on top of the other. Don't ask which one went top and bottom as I never managed to pour it right.
f**king hell we'd have some night if we all got together wouldn't we.

4 suckler bulls went last week, 13 - 13.5 months, came back at £1510 average. 377kg, smallest 334, largest 416. Smallest was out of a blue cross cow, tremendous shape but no size at all. Without chasing those better 3/4 bred beef cows I’m happy at that.

I know it’s cattle not sheep but I refuse to be a splitter.
Don’t apologise, this is the Beef/Lamb thread.
All looks a bit serious that side of the fence, certainly making a good job of ignoring @muleman doing his best to prompt a response 😂😂

Don’t leave it too late, make sure there is a bit of time to enjoy it. I intend on being cashed up and done by sixty. No living children and on the edge of a village, I’m not chewing on until I drop for the government to have it for free

A very good tenant farmer and contractor round here Said he would retire at 60, everyone said “no he will keep going”. On his 60th birthday we all went to his sale. He hold me that all finance and overdraft was panned to be paid of the year before, managed to buy a lovely house and now relief combine drives, does a small amount of digger work and helps out at market once a week. Said to be he’s having the time of his life.
