Went to St Boswells today to cash the empty ewes. Caught about 45 minutes of them selling the prime hoggs. The run I saw would have averaged under £1.50/kg. Four main buyers in attendance. Interesting to read the mart report having been on the spot.

Only saw a few ewes sold before mine went through. Easycares at £49 and £41. Also got shot of a mental Hampshire tup for £67. Reasonably satisfied. Felt that being there in person made a difference, in contrast to the kicking I got last time when I just dropped them off.

Yes i sold my easy care barrens last week avereaged 47 top was 58 and worst was 33. Thats was melton last week.

I took a few into welshpool today 44's £80.20 and £77 the first pen was a pen of specials and the others looked a decent trade on the day a lot of 43-44kg lambs around at £71-74

Fat bulls a flyer today took 6 big raky 18 month HF, P2 sorts av. 164p, six dairy bred blues av. 203p. Up 10p on the week. First heifer through the ring a beef bred sim/lim, 670 kg R/U4L 174p. Could have made £150 more as a store! Store heifers topped at £1320 in the same market last week
