£95Same weights at £75 last week is what spoils the job ! Anyone's guess what they'll make next week.
Cleared the last Springers out this morning. Five at 42kg @ £95. One at a whole 26kg made £60 (& good riddance).
And back in Cumbria, I sold 17 hogs and still have 23 left, couple of lambs born and those that have been here a few weeks are growing well. When I went round some at half six tonight, the temp was 1degC and it was snowing proper big feather flakes!
Glad you have finished selling your springers, when it arrives up here I'll sell some of mine
Today we were nowhere near last week 43's 83.50, 41.5's 81.50, 43's 81.50 and a 69kg Suffolk at 87@sherg did to sell any Hoggs today? Any good?

It wasn't just my turn to take the medicine everyone was down, the springers looked back a tenner as well
pay to load them up and take them to RugbySuck lambs were down £6/8 head at sedge and Exeter yesterday.
Intrestingly Honiton are collecting tomorrow and their prices are 12pk higher than the average for the above markets yesterday.
Hoggs were a slightly firmer trade.
Amazing there is still hundreds of medium/ long keep store lambs coming into markets each store day!
Saw your post this morning and it prompted me to walk a few, who were 'hanging about' near the gate with their mothers, home. Out of 11 random lambs, the 5 biggest weighed 39,41,42,47and 48kg.Couldn't believe it (only about 85 days old) They weigh like lead and are full of flesh. Is it bank holiday next Monday? Not sure whether to try lambs or not? Hadnt dreamt of weighing them, but had to move bunch of first born through buildings so thought might as well, just under 11 weeks, heaviest 44k, only a bunch of 30, few at 37 quite a few at 40. Got to go surely bank holiday or not?
I think you're right.Got to go surely bank holiday or not?
NSL £4.50 Dunbia next week down from £4.80
Light Hoggs <13.5kg up from 370p to 400p
Not surprised at all with that, i remember a few years ago there was always a time when hogs were more than spring lambs albeit for only a cple of weeks.it may repeat itself again sooner than you thinkNSL £4.50 Dunbia next week down from £4.80

Willy you make a lot of sence...dog and stick is my mottoThat's.£100 per 21kg kill out, there are plenty of sheep out there with a fairly small demand (not the run of the mill roast, for the average family). As farmers we have to start to understand demand and supply and our end customer and the future.
Personally I am setting out my stall for £50 lamb and to make a margin at it, but if people keep pushing high input high out put style sheep farming they would be better concentrating on chicken.
The race to the bottom and you are working for next to nothing! People will put on extra ewes to make up the lost money.Next we know, lambs are then £40.Willy you make a lot of sence...dog and stick is my motto
