Yes av was 48kg. Lost 2 kg between loading at 1pm and selling at 8pm. I reckon they would have been £2 to £3 more dw with less off takes.

Where would you send lambs deadweight where they pay up to 25kg? Or do you know a local butcher etc.

We send dw lambs that get paid up to 22.5 kg. These lambs would have all been 22.5 kg dw x £3.90/kg = £87.75.

Ah fair comment - no problems with them going overfat for deadweight at those weights.?
Find that here- they can go too fat and you get the ppkg (and the bottom line) knocked back- hence personally I would sell lambs at your weight in the live market where they dont mind thicker lambs so much.

Can get a few 3h with our home bred sheep. But these were bought in stores and only been on feed for 3 weeks. There were three lambs at 59kg - £95 that were obviously better live, but the rest I'm sure would be better dw.

Surely fed 48kg+ lambs would kill out more than 22.5? Do they not knock back the pay weight to 21kg if the get over say 23kg? That is what the dumbia grid I’ve just been sent says. But they only pay to 22kg so you’re not sending them there. I only ask because I have some to go and not sold lambs dead at this time of year, just in the spring.

I spoke to the auctioneer tonight he was going to get me a few if the trade was somewhere near, he never bought me a lamb, a good £3 up on the week?
