Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

How much has beef gone up next week?

Seems to me that we all need to hold tight for a week or two if we can. If cattle are a little short as they seem to be , all they do is drop the price to flush some cattle out and justify the price drop. I think we’ve bin guilty in the past of falling for it and sending cattle a fortnight early. Looks like they’ve tried it over the last couple of weeks but it’s backfired. I think price rises are around the corner:)

Absolutely, dont hold back too many, may create a glut later, just sell what you need to,and ask for more money instead of accepting what they offer, they always try their tricks this time of year but there aint enough cattle about for it to work.

Impossible for them to drop the deadweight price when clean cattle in markets are getting dearer and dearer every week and are now above deadweight like for like.

I’m not sending them any for 3 weeks, got nothing getting too close to the weight limit so I’ll keep them till they go back up

Those odd few cattle must have been very poor as heifers were back nearly 8pk and steers nearly 6pk.

Numbers down 18% for steers and 25% for heifers on the week.
Correct.
As you'll have seen, heavy heifers were a few pence up on the ahdb app, a few light steers and heifers were back 25p!
1 or 2 nearly up to age but not really finished would probably been better taken over age.
