Cull cows had been very dear again today I was told

Sedge up 23pk for cull cows. Crazy trade.

I didn't write anything down and I have a head like a sieve but the best up to about 210, 550-600 or so kgs I think.
Not much really flashy there today.

Why did you take some liveweight out of intrest?

Thought I'd try some to compare to dw.
Mine were stabiliser x and only good R grades and probably 4s, just under 600kg.
Personally mine would have come to a bit more money at abp so disagree that lw still ahead.

If yours weighed 600 and killed out at 55% they’d be worth £1221 dead or £2.03 live

I was disappointed with my trade. Whether they didn't like the stabiliser label or what I don't know but didn't quite make 180p so were well behind £1200.
Going by cattle of similar grade I thought they'd have been 185 - 190p on the day.

Tbh I wasn't sure, but no I couldn't as they've been tb tested in the last 60 days. Odd rule that I don't undertand- if they hadn't been tested I could've.

R grade wont average 55% kill out.

R grade or below send dead

E/U and tucked up butchers heifers 500/600 heifers send live.

If yours were 600 kilo that is quite light for contx steers and wont have helped the price.
