I have a suspicion the increased cow trade has a bit to do with the fallout of this, the rumours are rife about the amount of non EU imported meat going into processing in the Uk, so whilst FSA are out in force it wouldn't be a surprise if processors try to avoid any bad PR and simply stuck to British beef for the time being till the dust settles. Just a theory.
