I dropped lambs off in Rugby this morning. The auctioneer, and everyone else, me included, think the trade will be back a good margin.

I couldn't stay to see them sold and I haven't phoned up to see what they made yet (n)

Exeter smashed the £2/ kilo average today for fat cattle for the first time in living memory!

NSL lambs also +0.4pk to level at 1.87 ish.

Sedge lacklustre trade for both cattle and sheep with prime cattle down on the week and NSL lambs down about 8pk on the week to level at £1.80 ish.

I thought that Dunbia paid up to 22kgs but an overweight 22.5kgs and 23kgs (they round down to nearest 1/2 kg) would be reduced to 21kg with anything over 23.5 going back to 20kgs at base price.

 You need a good set of scales, and know they are working correctly before selling any to them! Probably only 42kg liveweight max. They are the worst robbers buying out of live markets that i have seen aswell.

Do Dunbia do that all year round over with you?

In NI they only pay to 22kg from October through to the end of April ish. Although there's no penalty mechanisms for over weights you just don't get paid for the extra weight.

Dunbia pay upto 21 kilos as per grid price.

Anything over 21 gets paid upto 21 kilos as per the grid price.
