I do enjoy a day at the mart when the bull sales are on...nothing more impressive than seeing the line ups and chatting with the breeders but yes the over fed tups and bulls is not the way forward
yea so do i , next time go see your man that sold you the good ram a few years back , buy a ram his top end (dont be a cheapskate) , then go to sale and buy another , next march see if you made the right choice , next year leave the cheque book at home and have a day out with your mates

West Wales. Had R grade prices from Pickstock 3.10 and text from Meadow Quality for 3.15 with the plainer cows at minimum of 2.35

Care to share with the rest of us where??

Well he sends them a long way north as he has stated in the past by the haulage rate. Cut out the firms that don't kill b/w and don't really do a decent off grid deal. He also said in a previous post about high stoppages. That as an educated guess would lead me to Linden just above Newcastle. A lot of cattle end up there from the south west through a dealer who sends me stores from time to time

Sold my consignment of Cheviot Mules at J36 yesterday, gotvthird with my show pen, thought I should have had second but happy mine made more than his in the ring. Most went south with the chap that bought them all last year taking half again this year.
Top of £115 average of £91 ten pounds up on the year.
