good trade that the way the job is...my best finished bullocks were only £1525 last week

No complaints here tbh, everybody in the chain has to make a pound. Certainly not in anybody’s interest for you feeding guys to pack in. Hopefully the job will have settled by our next batch in May

I’ve got nerves of steel but the buggers can eat some grass and would like some cattle out

Most of mine are just small lambs I have carried over so no panic for most of them here. If I had them heavy and fit I would be doing the same thing

Ring chock full first thing when the show beast were being sold and beast looked very dear early on but fell away imo as the day went on. Wouldn’t like to have had a late ballot. Definite shortage of buyers, the same men have always bought our cattle for years and a lot of them weren’t even there so a lot of new names on the list. Uncertain times though.

Breeding sale was the cheapest I’ve seen cattle there for some time. No real demand for anything except the best end. A lot of folk looking not buying

45s at £87.50
Dog ruff, 40s with a bit of meat on them at £78
Happy with that.
Anything over 45kgs looked cheap though!

That’s over £100 less than the same cattle in November!

About 80 in today, generally not many, they have a few special sales earlier in the season must get around 500 or so, most would go to Blackmoor gate.
Still a good trade today though only about 4 buyers.
