A50 extension gives a window for export , will cimb now for a few weeks ,)i hope) suck lambs will be sticky in june now , hmm creep on or not ?all bets off if it gets voted down again next week

Opps I was actually talking about cattle in that reply but of course thankfully sheep are on the up as well.

I think sheep will be okay until Easter regardless of what the self centred MP's decide but even if they do vote it down I expect the EU will grant the 3 month extension on the 29th March at about 10pm!

What happens if they don't vote for her deal, are they brave enough for a game of bluff with the eu? the hoggets desperately need a pick me up at the moment

Ring chock full first thing when the show beast were being sold and beast looked very dear early on but fell away imo as the day went on. Wouldn’t like to have had a late ballot. Definite shortage of buyers, the same men have always bought our cattle for years and a lot of them weren’t even there so a lot of new names on the list. Uncertain times though.
reminds me of what the H and H auctioneers told me before the mule gimmer lamb sale last september when they were trying to get customers for lambs and we thought job was gonna be sticky....his words...."even the bad payers wont tek any!"
That was the moment we thought the job might not be great!

Pound has dropped against the euro today. Interestingly the pound has dropped 20% against the US dollar in the last 5 years which possibly indicates the euro has been slipping at a similar rate

£ has dropped a lot today apparently so hopefully that will help the sheep job.

The pound sadly hasn't moved much at all. I also wonder what beef prices you look at as the AHDB market reports show that beef liveweight has been lower every day this week.
Hoggets are gently rising but are very much dampened by the high numbers of heavy and fat hoggets being sold.

Another 10p fall on beef predicted for next week. (Dead) :(

Who is predicting that? :(

The problem for the next week or so for buyers is that they have no idea what is going to happen with the B word as anything could happen so prices could well be quite jittery between now and then.

Some talk now that even the tariffs the UK government announced last week in the event of a no deal are incorrect and will change but to what no one seems to know! utter shambles!

Be intresting to see how markets fare today for cattle/ lambs.
