yep till june 4th , expect prices to rally in a few weeks
Yeah but during Ramadan a lot of sheep meat is eaten after dark as it’s one of the special meals for the fasting period so prices should be ok, there will be a lift at the end of the month for the feasting following the fast but there won’t be a big difference I suspect. Especially if the market is flooded

They are probably full of their scheme cattle...heard one guy bought 300 through the scheme...lost £150 a piece and went bust
A guy down this way lost a lot on some I think they had them back because he couldn't afford to feed them and they took them up to Carlisle to sell which wasn't to clever being tb1. Rumor had it he had to sell up but maybe there was more to it.

I can’t understand why the ewe trade is so poor, also very surprised at the numbers coming out still.Anyone got a comparison on last year?

Too many massive Hoggets have depressed the ewe trade. Also many of the Dealers have been sitting on unusually high numbers thinking they would increase in price before Ramadan.
There was a few days when the price went up, but it very quickly went down again.

I fear it is unlikely the festival at the end of Ramadan will make much difference but you never know. I won't be holding on to too many hoping it will be much better!

Any body any Hogs prices next week...and do any of the plants take scaled hogs
St Merryn were £2 a kg a couple of years back when we made the mistake of sending but wised up now and mouth as they go off. Have had some recently sold in same pen as non risers in market and there is about a £15 discount to what the others are making .

£94 for 48kg charollais hoggs, cull ewes not good. Looked to be a lot of lambs coming in.

Not surprising South Molton are getting so many spring lambs given they are getting the dearest trade by far of any South West market currently.

Yesterday they averaged 249pk for spring lambs which is some 19pk dearer than Exeter on Monday and 22pk+ dearer than most other SW markets this week.
