Then why are they fully booked?
Even more reason to sell live at the moment if that excuse is being used. Plenty of lambs over £2.00 per kg live this week for well finished types. SQQ yesterday was £1.97.
Most dwt quotes have been £4.25 which would make the market prices ahead by a reasonable amount. The other interesting figure is how few lambs are coming out with numbers down by significant amounts.

Logically because the pound is now at a very high figure against the euro one would expect to see the lamb price fall however it looks as if supply and demand is working especially in the live markets.

6600 stores in Hereford lambs hitting 80/85s. Plenty of store buyers who had the nerve buying in September are cashing in and re investing the profit. Lambs in late 40s early fifties leaving a good margin. Good luck to them as they underpin the whole trade

Well the Irish exported thousands of young bulls last year as well and it certainly didn't make any difference to the beef price so why will it this year??
1)Prices for stores and breeding cows have lifted over there lately because of tightening of numbers(2) Irish beef going to the likes of brazil because china has been buying beef in south america(3) Beef plan movement talks now seem to be bearing fruit.
