I don't really understand the beef market in the uk or the world. What is stopping the likes of abp pocketing any extra cash available from improved trading conditions? We have after all handed them huge control of the job haven't we?

That was my thinking. I have a supply of brewers grains which I could use for the protein but lambs can be a bit fussy on them. How much molasses is in coarse ration as a guide?

Just put some in. When it turns into sticky lumpy stuff you’ve put too much in.

Fat cattle in Thirsk yesterday were another good trade, I was up to £2.57p/kg and over £1500 for heifers and steers. I wonder how long this will last?
Some black and white bulls would be up 20p/kg on last week, plenty of well finished b/w bulls £1.80+

Well they get paid to lead silage hay and straw from England to produce beef to send back here which drops the price of our existing beef and puts up silage hay and straw here. Makes perfect sense to me!
