How come,market report says a cracking trade !!!

I know but spoke to someone today who had a good heifer only make 160 a kilo...fiction I think..just the best few have a cracking trade

I don’t know how people can make finishing cattle pay only getting £1.60 a kilo...they’d of had to of paid fanny Adams for them

Came to about 900 quid...no good at all...loads of heifers in the fat ring..off grass may I say during the autume...no hard food have only been coming to around 800 quid...waste of time

Rubbish isn’t it, but thinking about it, if a heifer goes just over 400 at woodheads, it instantly loose 15p as looses its bonus. Admittedly it will still a long way ahead of 2.75.

Certainly not supplier friendly it seems!

Even your non favourite firm still emails them out the same day as they have been killed and then the paper version comes within a day or so and with lambs they email the invoice amount the next working day as well as posting it!

And that’s why farmers are there own worst enemy ... oh price is good at the mo let’s buy in loads of stores at silly prices because the price is good at the minute then we will all moan like hell in a few months that we’re getting a crap price.... no your not getting a crap price you just paid too much for the bloody things and didn’t take into account costs.. it’s the sheep version of the milk price... price is good let’s buy more cows ??‍

Amen! Finally someone else who thinks like me! When someone can properly guarantee £100/life in spring I'll up my price. Until then I work on £75-£80 and everything over that is making money!
