Interesting what @Electricfencer said about not having a bad kebab. I know loads will come back and say they have, but as he said had more bad steaks. Prime cuts and joints are so inconsistent. Our main kebab van in Thame, that we use quite regularly, has won best kebab van or shop in country for two years running. On a Tuesday to Friday, never been on a Saturday , the que is 15 deep, serve a person and a half a minute. Average order 15/20 quid. The cues run from 5.45 which is 15 minutes before open to pub closing. It’s absolutely madness unless pouring with rain des make you realise how backwards we have been as an industry not to create a chain of high end brand, like kebabs. Or I said a few years ago posh burgers I think in service stations charging around 15 quid for a burger, some can claim only eat steak not kebab, but I do both and sadly I know what the majority of country do and where the money is surely

A flier with our local one had some facts that I can only roughly remember but many donners contained a % of beef and pork. With back up from trading standards taking samples on spot checks they contained only lamb or mutton. What parts, granted who knows but from a local source, containing a way higher % of meat than all supermarket burgers of the premium range, simply they all contain bread onions etc to lower cost, these are served as an accompaniment in a donner, not saying it is right, simply saying who has got it right

Can't see why they don't trial a lamb burger over here.
It's been talked about on here before - something to do with not being able to use the same grills for beef and lamb???

I'd like to see somebody (AHDB maybe??) offer dedicated grills, FOC, to one of the big chains to do a 6 mth trial. If it took off the rest of the chains would soon follow suit.

When I was last in oz .was hungry so went into a McDonalds.to my surprise they do lamb burgers so I tried probably the best tasting burger I've had from McDonalds.not that the beef ones are any good.

They need to get that tried I’d have thought. It would open up a lot of new customers with the Ethnic trade surely?

Lamb burgers are generally better than beef. They should be promoted more heavily IMO. I've bought a mincer so I can make them when I do a home kill(y)
