I've seen store cattle less money in May than Feb/Mar

I wouldn’t want grazers in May

This time of year is usually bad for for buying store cattle, not only have you got fattening men buying cattle every single week of the year to keep numbers up (now buying smaller younger cattle as well) also the grass men are out in force plenty of which didn't buy cattle last autumn to winter a few as there was very little confidence in cattle back then. This is making for a very strong trade. But if folk think they are to dear don't buy them!!!!!!!!

Did anyone see any inlamb ewes sold at Longtown today? I wanted to go but Tb testing AGAIN!!

We got three tests coming up ...... starting next week . It doesn't seem like 12 mths since the last .

Think your right there they are normally younger, poorer thrivers or have had some minor health issues as calves and they have already missed the best grass of the year

How high are you people? 1200’ here and plenty cattle out early to mid April around us. From what I have seen they might get a trickle of feed or a bale if weather really turns though.
