You are a good team though. Thats the only thing that really matters.I get similar comments. This heifer would have been far too dear if I’d turned up with it.
I did mention the heifer and calf that we were last losser at Carlisle on Friday at 1820 that she thought was too much but there wasn’t much of a reply
My Mrs would come back with something cute. She says we have enough ‘ugly’ sheep and cattle. She hates beltex and even more Charley tups. She says Belgian blue look like them losers posing in gym windows - lucky for me really as a hairy farmer!
I watched a bit on the phone. They looked a great trade DB bought a lot of the better end of cattle. There was some poor stores/weaners that were either dairy types or young and or poor looked like I could have made a shilling out of very cheap from £400 but JL was sticking in for them. Mainly very good cattle and a good trade a lot around £900Anybody know how the store cattle sold at Longtown this week? I might have had a look in different circumstances.

These 9mth Lim and Chx heifers averaged £929 today. It's a good photo.. not as big as they look!I watched a bit on the phone. They looked a great trade DB bought a lot of the better end of cattle. They look a straight trade to me nice sorts that will grow into nice cattle but will eat a bit off feed to get there. I think you have done well but there will be a bit for next man. These 9mth Lim and Chx heifers averaged £929 today. It's a good photo.. not as big as they look!View attachment 878377

You're probably right on the cheaper end, those sorts can put a bit of value on at this time of year.I watched a bit on the phone. Some just want a bit of tlc but you need to trail the auctions for them and if there’s two of you after them they don’t end up cheapYou're probably right on the cheaper end, those sorts can put a bit of value on at this time of year.
Would that be the same as dead..or a little in front in your view?I would think DW has caught up with live. Quoted £5.35 for ABP but took them to South Molton out of principle.
Had 48 nice Charolais x Lleyn 43.2kg @ £109.80 and 10 Pure Lleyn 43kg @£101.
Don't mind at all. Their mothers averaged £1350 from oban as incalf heifers, carrying them. Managed to pick some up from longtown around jan and they were £850.What do you pay for a sim/luing heifer these days if you don’t mind me asking
Hard to say, most of the Charolais x lambs would have been E and U grade so would have got a bonus on top....but then you always get the odd light one and poor grade for some reason ? which drags it down!Would that be the same as dead..or a little in front in your view?
